See London Light Up
Thursday 11 January 2018Without light there can be no sight. And one of the greatest pleasures of sight is seeing the beauty that light can create. What better antidote for the darkness of winter than a festival celebrating light? Well if you’re in the London area, you can experience two of the best in the coming weeks – and they’re both free.
After an absence of a year, Lumiere London returns to the capital’s streets from the 18th-21st of January 2018 with events extending from King’s Cross to Victoria, Mayfair to Waterloo. Ranging from the spectacular to the thought-provoking, each installation promises to fill the night vista with unexpected light and colour. Look out for illuminated buildings, installations, and impromptu street projects from some of the world’s leading light artists and collectives

Meanwhile, Canary Wharf will host Winter Lights from the 16th – 27th January. Best seen after 5pm, the area becomes the home to a fantastic array of 30 light-based artworks, sculptures and installations, many of which are on show in the UK for the first time. There is something for every member of the family. For a full programme of events and a downloadable brochure, visit: https://canarywharf.com/arts-events/events/
