A Look ahead to Roald Dahl Day 2019 with the Roald Dahl Museum
Thursday 12 September 2019As Roald Dahl day draws closer, we look at ways to celebrate the beloved author’s work and life.
Why not have a Roald Dahl themed day out this weekend take the children or grandchildren to the Roald Dahl Museum in Great Missenden, Buckinghamshire? The museum has laid on a host of activities and fun to mark the well-anticipated literary event. They will be celebrating the day on Saturday 14th, the day after the world-famous Roald Dahl day to allow children, aged between 5 and 12, the chance to visit on the weekend.
There’s plenty to enjoy including exploring the galleries, peeking inside Roald Dahl’s Writing Hut as well as some special activities linked to James and the Giant Peach, a popular title amongst readers.
As well as these great activities, the museum is also offering a clue trail where you can learn fascinating facts as you go, even allowing visitors to see the first-ever edition of James and the Giant Peach.
Also on offer is the chance to get up and close with some of Roald Dahl’s letters and manuscripts, as well as an exploration of Roald Dahl country as you walk in the footsteps of the master storyteller.
If visiting for the celebrations, make sure you book tickets online by midnight the day before your visit as this is a very popular time to visit the museum. A limited quantity of tickets will be available on the day.
